Please, please please write a book! I love reading all of your entries. This would make an awesome book. KEEP WRITING!!
I just stumbled across your blog tonight and it's funny that you're speaking out on this topic because I just blogged about my own racial experience at Wal-mart.
I'm married to a Mexican man and I have a diverse group of friends. I grew up in a family that really looked down at people of other races/cultures/religions/etc.
I agree that our leaders should speak out about EVERYTHING rather than their own agendas.

Amanda! I love reading your site. You are a very fun, upbeat bubbily person. I thought this before I read your site. Now I know what you've been through, and I can't believe you are the way you are. You are right though, we choose to be happy, we choose to be sad. Reading all of the posts makes me sad in a way, because I had a hard up bringing too. No physical abuse, but an alcoholic, verbally abusive mother and an absent father who lived on the other side of the country. I also believe that our past, good or bad, shapes and molds us into who we are. I firmly believ that at the end of the day, if you can laugh at yourself, you're going to be fine. One of my favorite quotes is " The cure for most things is Saltwater- sweat, tears or the sea." Enough said.

Amanda! Love the site. Also love reading the story of your life. You should publish a book? The Amanda Chronicles. I'd buy it. I'd probably buy 2. Reading all of your thoughts and experiences makes me feel sad and sorry for the way I treated you at work. You didn't deserve any of it. I'm glad we resolved our differences before you left.
But, still, I must say, Canada is better than the U.S. lol.
